Xpdf 4.03 released
Glyph & Cog is pleased to announce version 4.03 of Xpdf and all of the Xpdf libraries and components.
4.03 is primarily a bug fix release. As usual, this is an incremental release. For our commercial licensees, 4.03 is a small step from the previous 4.02.08 release.
4.03 does include several minor security patches, so we recommend that everyone upgrade.
There are some new features in the open source release:
XpdfReader improvements:
- Implemented selection extension via shift-click, and word/line selection via double/triple click.
- Added default bindings for ctrl-mousewheel-up/down to zoom in/out.
- Added a help menu item that shows all of the key bindings.
Various new command line options for pdftotext, pdftohtml, pdftoppm, pdftopng, and xpdf.
ISO 32000-2:2020
A new revision of the ISO PDF specification (ISO 32000-2:2020) was released in December. Most of the changes were minor updates and clarifications.
The spec references new revisions of the Adobe CJK character collections. The Xpdf CJK language support packages (Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese) have all been updated. See http://www.xpdfreader.com/download.html for downloads.
