
All of Glyph & Cog's products are based on the Xpdf code base. Xpdf was originally developed in 1995, and is now a mature, stable PDF engine.
XpdfInfo™: Extracts metadata - title, author, creation date, etc. - from PDF files. Available as a shared library (Unix platforms), DLL, or COM component (Windows).
XpdfText™: Converts PDF files to plain text. Generates plain ASCII, 8-bit Latin1, UTF-8 Unicode, and various standard CJK encodings, and can be configured to generate custom encodings. Available as a shared library (Unix platforms), DLL, or COM component (Windows).
XpdfViewer™ ActiveX Control: PDF file viewer component. With XpdfViewer, any Windows developer can add PDF viewing functionality to their application using Visual Basic (or any other ActiveX-aware development environment.
XpdfViewer™ DLL: PDF file viewer library. This provides the same functionality as the ActiveX control, but in DLL form.
XpdfPrint™: prints PDF files to any Windows printer. Available as a Windows DLL or COM component.
XpdfRasterizer™: converts PDF pages to standard format bitmap image files. Available as a shared library (Unix platforms), DLL, or COM component (Windows).
XpdfAnalyze™: Analyzes object type and color information in PDF files. Available as a shared library (Unix platforms), DLL, or COM component (Windows).
XpdfPS™: Converts PDF files to PostScript. Available as a shared library (Unix platforms), DLL, or COM component (Windows).
